Dad First, Teacher and Coach Second

Growing up with a teacher and coach for a parent was an interesting childhood. Everywhere we would go, the grocery store, church, a restaurant, my dad would find someone that knew him. No matter what, he always would take the time to chat and catch up with whoever he meets. It used to bother me a lot when we would have to stop to do that. I felt that there was a lot of time that could be spent finishing up what we were doing and moving on but we would constantly be delayed. However, I began to realize that as an educator and mentor, my dad was always going above and beyond for the people whose hearts he touched. My dad is someone that not only others look up to, but he taught me that we were put on this Earth to be there for others and help support one another in any way we can. I am forever thankful to have grown up with my dad as an educator and coach, a teacher who is always doing the most he can. Thank you, Dad!
