She Let Us Into Her World

The first teacher I ever remember feeling a connection to was Mrs. Elkins in junior high. Mrs. Elkins was a drama teacher, and she was a lovely warm person. She spoke to us about her life. She had owned and run a theater company doing community theater for many years. and had then returned to teaching. She told wonderful stories about the old building her company was in, and the ghost who lived there. She was full of life, and what touched me the most was how she shared of herself. Her feelings, experiences, and opinions - she let us into her world, and we loved her!
