20 & Learning Patience

Moving out on my own to start the college experience was a test on how I handled stress, anxiety and vulnerable situations. I went into college not knowing that the organization I was able to be apart of would shape me into the person I am today. Coach Will was a former student at the University and a former Cheerleader in the Spirit Teams Organization, he had a lot of knowledge and learned experience on how to manage and balance a heavy work/practice/school/and social schedule. While being introduced to a life that I could act independently in, having Coach Will bring guidance and strict order into my life kept me above water. Will came off to me as a caring individual who was using his past experiences and failures to improve and support me and my peers on the teams he was in charge of. Will was able to introduce a good fear and ambitions in me to want better for myself through the sport. Our coach ended a practice with positives, he applied ethics to how we perceived one another through team exercises, to those who practiced; he included a prayer to keep each one of us level headed for the day in front of us. Coach will taught me to stay patient in overwhelming times, he taught me and my peers how to work together in a way that I use daily with my career now. I am thankful for the relationship and respect I have with Coach Will. I am thankful for the hard lessons I had to learn, but appreciate the patience it has instilled in me as an adult. Thank you Coach Will.
